58 Short & Easy to Memorize Bible Verses – For Everyone

Ever wish you were one of those people who could recall Bible verses during those key moments? I have always admired those folks. My problem is that I have a terrible memory! Here are 58 short and easy to remember scripture verses to help you tuck God’s word into life.

Tips For Scripture Memory

If you struggle remembering anything, let alone book, chapter, verse and scripture like me then let’s look at a few ways to help.

One great way is to use a dry erase marker and write the verse on your bathroom mirror. Especially if you are a visual learner this is helpful. You will be able to see it and recite it each time you are at your sink.

You could also write the scripture verses on a sicky note and attach it to your car dashboard. I do not recommend this for longer passages, however. Be safe! This way you will be able to glance at them at red lights or sitting in traffic and practice reciting it while driving. Who knows, having a little bit of good news posted on your dash may help give you a little more patience in traffic….but no promises.

Another scripture memorization trick is to jot them down on an index cards and post them around your house so you can see them easily. You could put it on your refrigerator or kitchen cabinets and speak them each time you see them.

It may be easier to work on one short Bible verse each week rather than trying to remember several memory verses at the same time. Pick a new passage at the start of the week with a goal to have it down pat by the end of the week.

Breaking the verse down into smaller chunks is also a good way to commit it to memory.

You could choose bible passages as a household and practice reciting them with your family members.

Reasons For Memorizing Bible Verses

Does being able to quote scripture make you righteous or some sort of super Christian? I think absolutely not. No more than good deeds alone are the sure fire way to the heavenly Father. But, I do think the Bible is the word of God and offers instruction for a Christian life. Being able to remember specific direction or encouragement are really great ways to insert the power of God into you daily life.

The bible cross references it’s self over and over and over again. So if you can recall a verse that is referenced in another book it will deeper your understanding of God’s truth.

Perhaps the main reason for being able to remember scripture is to help each other. If you can quote verse you may be able to offer great encouragement to someone in a tough time or provide a strong case for faith in a conversation.
